VALVE SEAT MILLING CUTTERS
The valve milling cutters are used for manual re-facing and milling the seats of valves of engines, steam engines, and pneumatic machines. The re-facing and milling is done during replacements or re-grinding of valves.
DESCRIPTION :
Bodies of the milling Cutters are Provided On One Side With Taper of 90 deg (bevel of 45 deg.) with cut teeth, number of which varies according to diameter of cutter body. The other side of the cutter body is straight and also provided with cut teeth. In the middle, the cutter body has a bore of 14 mm diameter (tolerance h7), aloowing the cutter to be slide in thje ways of the guide. The guides of the valve milling cutters are provided on the other side with hexagonal head of 17 mm for spanner, ways for cutter body of 14 mm diameter and thread M10 for screwing on of spanner.
WORKMANSHIP :
The cutter bodies are made from tool steel. after cutting of teeth, the bodies are hardened to 58-62 HRc and sand blasted.The teeth are sharpened and periphery of the body ground. The guides and spanner are machined and polished.
OPERATION :
Body of the milling cutter of respective diameter is mounted on the guide (on 14 mm diameter) and spanner is a screwed on thread M10. By tightening the latter spanner, the cutter body is secured and locked against self-rotation. Shank of the guide is mounted in respective shank of valve in the engine block and by rotation of the entire set in direction against indination of cutter teeth; the valve seat is re-faced or milled. Work with the valve seat milling cutter is easy and quick.
